Since 2013, Artis has helped employers across Canada navigate the complexities of Workers’ Compensation Boards (WCB) and Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) compliance. Our mission is simple: help businesses reduce risk, gain clarity, and focus on what they do best – growing their organizations.
What began as a small team with big ideas has grown into a trusted consulting firm serving hundreds of clients across industries such as construction, manufacturing, healthcare, and hospitality. We bring expertise in legislation, claims management, and safety programs, applying knowledge into practical, real-world solutions. Our team is more than just compliance, we focus on building strong, lasting relationships with our clients and becoming an extension of their team.
Our Beginnings
Artis was founded by Kessie Stevens, who recognized a critical gap in how organizations manage workers’ compensation claims. During her time with the Alberta Workers’ Compensation Board, she realized the disconnect between what employers needed for effective claims management and their understanding of the system.
After working on thousands of claims, Kessie saw firsthand how overwhelming and complex the WCB process can be for businesses. She realized that many companies simply don’t know what they don’t know – and that knowledge gap was costing them time, money, and peace of mind.
Artis was built to bridge that gap with expertise, guidance, and a deep commitment to making WCB and safety compliance easier for employers across Canada.

2013
Our Origins
It all started when Kessie Stevens launched Artis Inc., specializing in WCB services.
2019
Expanded Services
As Artis continued to grow, we expanded our services to include safety consulting—offering clients even more support in creating safer, healthier workplaces.
2020
Training library
Artis introduced online training modules—giving clients the flexibility to learn at their own pace, whenever and wherever it works best for them.
2021
WCB Wednesdays
Looking to share knowledge and connect with our community, Artis launched its first webinar series—WCB Wednesdays—offering insights and guidance on navigating the workers’ compensation system.
2022
Going Abroad
Artis took the international stage by presenting at a global conference in Paris, France—sharing our expertise and gaining new perspectives from industry leaders around the world.
